Michael J. Pinto, Esq.

Michael J. Pinto, a lifelong resident of Staten Island, joined Crawford ∙ Bringslid ∙ Vander Neut, LLP in May 2018 after working at a mid-sized Manhattan firm specializing in insurance defense.  He represented business entities and insurers in a wide array of civil litigation, including matters involving toxic exposure to hazardous substances such as asbestos.

Mr. Pinto graduated from St. John’s University School of Law in 2013.  While in law school, Mr. Pinto received a Presidential Scholarship, was a member of the Dean’s List and was the associate managing editor of the Journal of Civil Rights & Economic Development.  Prior to law school, Mr. Pinto graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. from Wagner College where he was a member of the Dean’s List, Omicron Delta Kappa and Pi Sigma Alpha and President of the Student Government Association.

Aside from his practice of law, Mr. Pinto serves on the adjunct faculty of Wagner College and is co-chair of the College’s Pre-Law Advisory Committee.  He was awarded the Leeseberg Alumni Award from the College’s Omicron Delta Kappa chapter in 2016 for his support and dedication to the College. Additionally, Mr. Pinto is the Founder and Executive Director of the Minty Organization for the Performing Arts, which celebrates the achievements of students in the Staten Island Catholic high schools. He serves as the resident musical director for In the Wings Productions, a non-profit theatre organization on Staten Island. Mr. Pinto is also an active member of his parish, Our Lady Star of the Sea, in Huguenot.

Mr. Pinto is a member of the American Bar Association, New York State Bar Association and Richmond County Bar Association.  He was admitted to practice law in the states of New York and New Jersey in 2013. 

Robert J. Feldman, Esq.

Robert J. Feldman was Senior Editor of the Brooklyn Law Review. As an ex-prosecutor under Janet Reno and a Legal Aid Criminal Defense Division trial attorney he has tried hundreds of cases to verdicts. Beside trying cases---especially criminal jury trials and all types of LGBTQ litigation, his other passions include competitive powerlifting, breeding dogs and blogging for the Huffington Post.

Michael A. Posavetz, Esq. is a results oriented legal and operations executive with more than 15 years of experience in operations and legal management. Garen Marshall, Esq.

After graduating from Port Richmond High School in 2003 Garen Marshall joined the United States Navy. Garen spent five years in Navy Special Operations as an explosive ordnance disposal technician. In addition to working with the U.S. Secret Service to protect the President and Vice President, Garen led a team in Iraq on missions to disarm improvised explosive devices and was awarded the bronze star medal.


Garen completed a BA at Baruch College and was the valedictorian for Baruch’s class of 2011. Garen received his J.D. from New York University School of Law in 2014 and is now a litigation associate in the New York office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.


In addition to his work for commercial clients, Garen is a passionate advocate for military veterans. His efforts on behalf of veterans have been featured in the Wall Street Journal and New York Law Journal. He is currently co-chair of Skadden Arps’ veterans affinity group and dedicates his pro bono efforts to veteran-related matters.

Louis R. Rosenthal, Esq.

Louis R. Rosenthal, a Staten Island resident, currently maintains his law offices at 26 Court Street, Brooklyn, New York where he devotes his practice to criminal trials and appeals. He has previously served as a Judge of the Civil and Criminal Courts and between 1979 and 1982 as deputy supervising Judge of the Criminal Court for Kings and Richmond Counties. Rosenthal  served as an Assistant United States Attorney, Eastern District, in the late 1960s. 

Rosenthal is active member of the Free & Accepted Masons of the State of New York and has served as a Trustee of the Masonic Home and as Chief Commissioner of Appeals. He is a graduate of Brooklyn Law School and served as President of it’s Alumni Association. He also holds a Master of Laws Degree from New York University School of Law.

Steven D. Schwartzman, Esq.

Steven D. Schwartzman is an attorney admitted to practice law in the States of New York and New Jersey, and before the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and the Southern District of New York. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree at the New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business, and after working as areal estate property manager and salesperson in New York City, he attended the Seton Hall University School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor degree.

Following law school Mr. Schwartzman worked at a mid-sized litigation firm in White Plains, New York, In 2013, Mr. Schwartzman joined the law firm of Bonfiglio & Asterita, LLC as an associate attorney where he currently represents clients in litigation matters related to real estate, business and family law, will trusts &estates, personal injury and medical malpractice.

Daniel Reiter, Esq.

Daniel is an Associate at the Law Firm of Hall & Hall, LLP. Daniel graduated from Suffolk University Law School in 2013 and was admitted to practice in the State of New York in September 2014. He previously interned for the Hon. Robert J. Gigante at the Richmond County Surrogate's Court during the summer of 2012.

Randi Scherman is a staff attorney in the Homeowner Defense Project. Prior to joining SILS, she served as a law clerk to the Honorable Elizabeth S. Stong in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York. She received her B.A., with distinction, from Cornell University and her J.D., cum laude, from Brooklyn Law School, where she was a Sparer Fellow.
