To my friends and colleagues:
I have been entrusted by my dear friend, and one of our colleagues, Jack Dalton, with alerting the Bar that his wife, Rosemary ("Roe") Dalton, passed away yesterday following a swift but difficult and painful battle with cancer. To say that she did not suffer would be an understatement, but for some inexplicable reason, God seems to take the really good ones way too early, and not without pain. She is, no doubt, in a much better place.
Roe was really one of the true good ones, a decent, pure and gentle soul. No, these are not just words, I speak from the heart. How is that? Roe Dalton, together with Jack, are the God-parents of my youngest child, Brianna and as many of you would no doubt concur, this is an honour that is not lightly bestowed, and rest assured, I can think of no other two people who are more deserving of this honour.
