Summer 2018 Justice Louis Sangiorgio* Supreme Court Law Intern Program

The Richmond County Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project (VLP) is now
accepting applications for its Law Intern program. The program will be supervised by the
Administrative Judge of Richmond County, Desmond Green. The Richmond County Bar
Association VLP will select law students to participate in a six-week program, which will
immerse them in the day-to- day business of the judicial system. Applicants must have
completed either their first or second year of law school.
Participating students will work with Supreme Court Justices and Principal Law
Clerks in the research and resolution of real life disputes that have come before the court.
Participants will also work with the Managing Attorney for the VLP in assisting with active
files of clients being represented by the VLP. Participants will observe jury trials, jury
selection, litigant conferences with the court and attend instructional presentations and
seminars conducted by practicing attorneys.
Stipends may be available to the student interns through the Richmond County Bar
Association VLP in an amount to be determined at a later date. The six-week program will
run from Monday June 4, 2018 through July 13, 2018.
Applications must be received by Friday April 27, 2018 and applicants are
