We are a busy business and franchise law firm located in Staten Island, New York. Our litigation practice is limited to commercial disputes such as partnership disputes, franchise violations and intellectual property disputes. This is an associate attorney position for a New York (and, preferable, New Jersey) licensed attorney with 2-4 years litigation experience. Do not apply if you have not been a licensed attorney in New York for at least 2 years. This position is ideal for someone who is looking to expand his/her knowledge of commercial litigation and who is looking to get real-world experience in handling commercial cases from pre-litigation discussions to trial (and, sometimes, appeals).
We are looking for the right fit for this job. If you are interested in developing your skills and your career, and making a positive contribution to a business establishment, this job may be for you. This position is not for someone interested in "only getting a paycheck". You understand the challenges of operating a business and welcome them as valuable learning and growing opportunities. You understand what it means to be a hard worker.
Whether you are introverted or extroverted, we like for you to exude energy and enthusiasm. You are extremely detail-oriented, enjoy people, enjoy talking to people and are articulate. You have a good sense of humor, a cooperative attitude. You show kindness, patience, and respect. You are ethical and honest, even when no one is watching. You are punctual. You look for solutions, not excuses. You are an avid learner, and extremely resourceful in finding solutions. You are a problem solver, not just a problem reporter.
