On November 4, 2012, the NYC Marathon having been canceled, Peter Weinman (RCBA Member) helped organize the otherwise Marathon Runners to make charity runs from the Staten Island Ferry Terminal to some of the Staten Island neighborhoods hit hardest by Hurricane Sandy, South Beach, Midland Beach, New Dorp Beach, and Oakwood Beach, specifically.    Runner-volunteers spent the day distributing water, food, and garbage bags to residents.
